Clearing for Health & Well-Being, Part 2

Have you discovered Selenite? A crystallized form of Gypsum, there’s just something about it that makes me want to have it around me all the time. It’s luminescent white in color, soft, with striations running through its length. But that description really doesn’t do it justice.

I first came across it when I was offering a channeled seminar weekend in New Hampshire a few years back, where the folks who hosted had a gem shop. Oooh. One of my favorite kinds of shopping. There on the shelves were several pieces, large and small, of this luminescent white crystalline loveliness. I just couldn’t put it down and I am embarrassed to say that I bought more than I could carry. The other good news is that it isn’t as expensive to buy as are other gems.

The bonus was that I learned that selenite is a wonderful clearing tool. I use it in several ways. One piece is in the shape of a flat plate and that’s where I put my jewelry after I’ve worn it. Other times when I receive a gift from someone, I always set those earrings or necklace on that selenite.

Now I’d like to be clear – no pun intended. I’m not doing this out of fear. I’m just being practical, something like dusting.

I was gifted with a smooth selenite egg and I just have it sitting on the window sill in the room where I do most of my channeling. My channeling room is filled with different pieces of selenite… again, not out of fear or even concern. I just love the feeling of having selenite around me.

My friend Dorthy (correct spelling) has a wand-like shape of selenite and she moves it around her body with the intent of clearing her auric field.

I gifted a large piece to my friend June who was going through some difficult healing challenges and when I handed it to her, she immediately held it to her chest, closed her eyes, and fell in love with the sweetness of selenite.

Also called Satin Spar at times, though this term is also used for a type of calcite, its name comes from the Greek goddess of the moon, Selene. It has been used for window panes, such as those in Santa Sabina in Rome. The giant crystals in the Naica Cave of Crystals are Selenite Gypsum.

Some of my research revealed that the powerful vibration of Selenite can clear, open, and activate the Crown and Higher Chakras and is excellent for all types of spiritual work. Selenite can also be used to strengthen the memory.
